GD&T Analysis

Without relying on AI, F4 analyzes every element of your GD&T to assess whether your design is clear, manufacturable, and production ready. When issues are found, F4 flags them and guides engineers toward resolving the problem. To make the drawing easier to understand, engineers can visualize their datums, reference frames, and tolerance zones that have been analyzed directly on the 3D model in F4.

GD&T Tolerance Analysis

F4 also calculates tolerance stack-ups instantly - directly from the drawing. All geometric controls, tolerances, and other relevant GD&T are taken into account in the stack path to provide min and max distances between critical features. Generated stack up tables can be exported for sharing as an excel as well. What once took hours of manual error-prone work now takes seconds.

Is F4 a CAD System or a PLM?

Neither! F4 is an on-device hardware platform that uses 3D and 2D design files generated from CAD platforms as inputs. F4 accepts files from major CAD platforms: NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, Fusion 360, & Onshape. F4 itself does not create design files. Teams also use F4 to document relevant data and status for assembly parts and interfaces instead of spreadsheets. Teams use F4 to supplement the design release process before changing part & assembly maturity in their PLM.

Who Should Use F4?

Any industrial team that creates or works with engineering drawings should use F4! Industrial teams use F4 to avoid the risk of engineers creating and releasing non-compliant drawings. Using F4 also avoids the risk of non-design stakeholders like manufacturers, vendors, and internal teams of misinterpreting drawings.
